2018 Stroh’s® Legend Run FAQs

General Questions:

What do I get for my entry fee?

All participants in the Stroh’s® Legend Run 5K Run/Walk  and Mile events will receive a GUARANTEED short sleeve shirt, and post-race food buffet.  5K participants will receive a finisher medal.  Age group awards are presented for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years.

Drink tickets for 2018 – Participants 21 years of age and older will receive (1) drink ticket with their registration valid for (1) ice cold 12 OUNCE Stroh’s® Beer.  You are required to be at least 21 years of age and have your driver license ID & race bib ready to enter our secured beer area.

How can I sign up for the events?

Or download the race entry form and mail in, or go to a Road Runner Sports store (see below for locations) and register in person.

Are there entry limits for the race?

Yes…

The 5K Run/Walk is limited to 3,000

What are the age limits for the races?

There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.

Is the race events walker friendly?

Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral so as not to impede the faster runners.

Where can we park for the event?

  • Ample street parking is available on neighboring residential streets around Brew Detroit and within walking distance from the start/finish line.  Parking on the race course is not permitted for any reason and violators will be towed.
  • Secure parking is located behind Mercury Burger and Bar on 14th Street.
  • (Free) IBEW Parking lot across the street from Brew Detroit.  The entrance is off of Porter Street.  VIEW A GOOGLE MAP IMAGE HERE.
  • West of 14th, there is street parking along Michigan Avenue, 16th and 17th Streets & the roads in front of the Michigan Central Station.
  • MGM Grand Detroit parking garage on 3rd St.

Are there refunds if cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib no?

NO REFUNDS; ONLY TRANSFERS ALLOWED TO ANOTHER PERSON BEFORE OUR ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES!

Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?

If you choose to run with a baby jogger or a pet dog, you must seed yourself in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the baby jogger or pet dog does not impede other runners as well as you must take extra precaution as to your safety, your child’s safety and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any person from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.  All dogs MUST be kept on a SHORT leash.

Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?

Headphones are allowed for any runner however, we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons.

When is the last day to register?

The last day to register “online” is Thursday, May 17th by 11:00 pm EST.

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP

At Brew Detroit (MAP):
On race day afternoon, May 19, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

Packet Pick Up:

How will I receive my race packet?

You must pick up your race packet before the event. We will not mail race packets.

EARLY PACKET PICKUP:

At our Road Runner Sports stores approximately one week before the event:  Friday May 12, Noon to 8:00 pm, and Saturday May 12 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.  CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

ON-SITE PACKET PICKUP

Race Information:

Can I register on race day?

At Brew Detroit (MAP):
Race day afternoon, May 19, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. CASH OR CHECK ONLY.

Do you accept credit cards for registration race day?

No, cash or check only.

Will there be water stations?

Yes, there will be a water station.  Also water is provided at the start & finish areas.

Will there be medical aid stations?

The Medical Aid station is located at start/finish line area and course marshals on all three courses have two-way radios for contact with public safety officials.

Will there be bathrooms/portable toilets available?

This information will be posted soon.

Where are start/finish lines and the event start times?

THE FINISH LINE CLOSES AT 4:15 P.M.  Start and Finish lines are at Brew Detroit.  The Mile starts at 3:00 PM, and the 5K Run/Walk starts at 3:15 PM.

What times do the courses close?

THE FINISH LINE CLOSES AT 4:15 P.M.

B-Tag chip timing?

Runners will need to wear Race Bib on their front – shirt/ jacket/ pants – to be scored in the event (ChronoTrack B-tag is on the bib).

Awards:

Age Group Awards?

Age group awards are presented for the 5K event for males and females in the top three places in the age groups 10-14 years, 15-19 years, 20-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years and 75+ years. Awards will be given out pickup your award at the post-finish festival area behind Brew Detroit at 3:45 PM.  If you think you have won an award, please check at the Awards tent. If you are unable to wait for the official results and pick up your award on race day, you may have a friend pick it up or pay to have it shipped.
